Haya Skincare began with a spark of inspiration between a wellness-focused mother and her creative daughter. A casual conversation quickly evolved into a shared vision: to create a lip care line using natural ingredients, eco-conscious practices, and a commitment to well-being. The daughter, passionate about clean beauty and the environment, envisioned products that felt good, performed well, and aligned with a more intentional lifestyle.
Fueled by her daughter’s idea, Maria Woods got to work in the kitchen. With a deep love for holistic living, she began experimenting with plant-based, locally sourced ingredients. After multiple rounds of testing, she perfected a deeply hydrating, long-lasting lip balm, proving that clean, effective skincare could come straight from nature. What started as a homegrown project quickly blossomed into something bigger: a mission to create a skincare brand centered on wellness, sustainability, and authenticity.
Seeing a clear need in the market for wellness-driven lip care, Maria's daughter knew they were onto something special. That evening, she asked her mother for more ideas. Maria’s response was simple yet powerful: “Build a brand you would buy.”
The next day, the duo dove into brainstorming. From product design and scents to messaging and packaging, they crafted a vision that reflected both of their values. A full presentation was created, with Maria at the helm—blending her daughter’s creativity with her own experience and insight. And just like that, Haya Skincare was born.
Maria tapped into her professional network and brought on a team of trusted experts to help shape the brand and bring their formulations to market. What began as a kitchen experiment became a business rooted in passion, integrity, and the belief that wellness starts with what we put on our skin.

Maria Woods is a San Diego-based skincare formulation expert, yoga practitioner, and wellness advocate. She began crafting natural skincare products from home, creating body creams, balms, and candles using only clean, plant-powered ingredients. Encouraged by friends and family, she transformed her passion into Haya, a brand committed to purity, sustainability, and wellness-focused beauty. Maria now leads Haya’s product development, ensuring every formula is safe, effective, and aligned with their values.
In addition to her skincare journey, Maria has enjoyed a successful 15-year career in real estate, including 8 years serving the San Diego community. In 2025, she was honored with a top industry award, recognizing her professionalism, perseverance, and excellence. From Rio de Janeiro to California, Maria's journey reflects her unwavering dedication to building trust and making meaningful impact—both in beauty and beyond.

With a background in digital content, branding, and photography, she helps shape the brand’s identity and ensure its message connects with a growing audience who value wellness, transparency, and style.
